Dana Rohrabacher Gets Lectured For Lying on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher

As expected, Dana RohrabacherOrange County's senior career politician–embarrassed the county during a Jan. 27 appearance on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher and then got into a Twitter fight with a viewer who called him “a pathetic old queen.”

“I'm happy, not gay,” Rohrabacher felt the need to declare after the show.

During his appearance as a panelist with MSNBC's Martin Bashir, ex-Florida Congressman Mark Foley and Reason TV's Kennedy, Rohrabacher–who married a campaign staffer after being outed as a closet gay man–angrily asserted that Republican hostility to Barack Obama is based largely on their perception that the president has a secret desire: “gut the military.”
]

“We know–all of us sitting in the audience (at the State of the Union
address)–he's trying to gut the military,” said Rohrabacher to boos and
laughter. “Excuse me! This man is trying to have major reductions in
the military.”

Never mind that Obama has increased military
spending every year he's been in office and is proposing to spend more
than $6 trillion on the military during the next decade.

Also, never mind that Rohrabacher–who evaded Vietnam War
military service when he was eligible to fight in combat–is one of
those politicians who pretends he knows better than battle-scarred
Pentagon generals what spending programs are critical for national
defense.

For example, in the fight over the C-17 military
cargo plane, exasperated Pentagon officials repeatedly said they had
more than enough at 180 of the aircraft. But Rohrabacher demanded that
the generals accept eight more of the planes costing taxpayers an additional
$2.2 billion and accused Obama of threatening the survival of the free
world by siding with the generals.

Surely coincidentally, Boeing officials–who build the C-17–are longtime campaign contributors to Rohrabacher, who
has been known to divert campaign contributions into his personal bank
account under a shameless ruse he concocted with his wife, Rhonda.

Rohrabacher also used his HBO appearance to challenge Obama's commitment to honest government, but he forgot to mention his own history of surrounding himself with con artists and a relentless pedophile who targeted middle school boys for sex and romance.

When Maher noted that Obama had increased military spending each year in office, Rohrabacher–who recently claimed that Bill Clinton's 1995 blow job from a White House intern caused the 2001 terrorist attacks–shot back: “What planet are you on?”

“Can we deal in facts?” Maher replied.

“Give me a break,” said Rohrabacher. “Everybody in this audience knows this man wants to [gut the military].”

“No!” said Maher. “I know it's weird but can we just introduce facts?”

How about this fact: The 12-term Costa Mesa congressman–who in 1988 campaigned for office espousing the importance of limiting members of Congress to three terms as a way to thwart corruption–is accustomed to getting away with his bullshit when speaking at the local Kiwanis or Rotary clubs, but not on national TV.

Or this: Rohrabacher is now seeking his 25th and 26th years in Congress.
