Having pleaded guilty in March to repeatedly molesting two girls, then 3 and 7, in their Fullerton neighborhood, brothers Cristobal Ortiz Rodriguez, 38, and Eduardo Ortiz Rodriguez, 36, were sentenced Monday to 50 years in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration.

The Rodriguezes lived together in a converted garage in 2010 when they met the girls and plied them with candy and ice cream. Between May of that year and August 2011, the men sexually touched, masturbated, penetrated and orally copulated the girls--at the same time, separately or one after the other. They also showed the girls porn.

The older girl eventually told a relative what happened to her and her sister, Fullerton cops launched an investigation and the Rodriguezes were arrested on Aug. 26, 2011. Cristobal copped to 11 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and four felony counts of continuous sexual abuse. Eduardo admitted to 15 felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse.

Eduardo Ortiz Rodriguez's 17 felony counts give him two more than his older brother.

Upcoming Events

The mother of the girls delivered what the Orange County District Attorney's office described as an "emotional" impact statement to the judge Monday that detailed the traumatic pain that her daughters continue to experience. No mother or child should have to endure this lifetime of pain, the mom added.
