Citizen of the Week!
Ian Robert Tedeschi groomed himself as a Southern California bad boy with blond hair, blue eyes and a surgically placed silver ball in the shaft of his penis. The 5-foot-10, 200-pounder bragged that he loved "really big boobs" and belonged to the Orange County Skinheads gang. Before he was halfway through his twenties, he'd created an impressive police rap sheet that included stalking, trespassing, vandalism, possession of a deadly weapon (a nunchaku), felony graffiti, criminal threats and sex crimes. Once, he expressed his displeasure with a driver by slamming a baseball bat into a vehicle's window. At the age of 28, he was calling himself "Taildragger" on his MySpace account. He published an online "Booty Call Agreement" with lines such as "No falling asleep after sex. It's over, so get your ass up, get dressed and go the fuck home" and "Don't be offended if I don't ask if you enjoyed it. I don't care." Plus, "Doggie style is the preferred position--the reason: the less eye contact, the better." His cell-phone ring tone was a recording of his girlfriend moaning during intercourse--which may have been tacky but not entirely degenerative if the girl hadn't been a middle-school student.
Tedeschi, according to police files, liked his girlfriends to be about half his age--somewhere between 13 and 16. He told pals that he prefers underage sex with Riverside County girls because they are "good and tight." He took a 15-year-old girl's virginity in the back of his white Cadillac, which he'd parked near a junior-high school. He had sex with one 14-year-old for at least 100 consecutive days, the girl admitted to detectives. Another 14-year-old said she'd been screwed by Tedeschi "15 to 18 times . . . per week" and orally copulated him "over 50 times" per month. A 15-year-old recounted that she'd had sex with him "200-plus times" during an eight-month period. The daily sex crimes must have been grueling; he only had sex with a 16-year-old girl "every other day." To help prove his sincerity, he asked one of the girls to run away with him so they could get married in Tennessee.
Police arrested Tedeschi for various felonies, including unlawful sexual intercourse with minors. After a trial, a judge sentenced Tedeschi to serve eight years and eight months in prison, a sentence that a state appellate court based in Santa Ana upheld in late July.
He maintains--at least in court pleadings, but perhaps not in prison--that the girls fabricated the sex tales.
