A 21-year-old La Habra man was arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a woman while she was jogging in Whittier.
Christian Moreno, who was booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping and held in lieu of $1 million bail, is expected to appear in court in Bellflower today, according to Whittier Police Officer John Scoggins. But criminal counts would rise if there are other victims, which police fear there may be. Anyone who believes they have been similarly victimized by Moreno is urged to call Whittier Police Detective Brenna Dineen at 562.567.9270.
That's also the number for anyone to call with information about the Monday incident, which happened around 9:10 p.m. as a woman jogging on a sidewalk in the 15900 block of Whittier Boulevardw was grabbed by a stranger.
"During the struggle, the victim sustained minor scrapes and bruises as they both fell to the ground," Scoggins said. "A good Samaritan came to the victim's aid, and chased the suspect away on foot."
Moreno was arrested after a search of the area, according to a City News Service report.
