Orange County Superior Court officials updated their public records today to reflect the government's pending sex crimes accusations against Santa Ana Councilman Carlos Bustamante.
District Attorney Tony Rackauckas believes Bustamante, the onetime up and coming Republican politician, is guilty of a seven-year crime spree of 16 counts–12 felonies and four misdemeanors ranging from April 2003 to September 2011.
If eventually found guilty of all the charges, he'll face a potential 26-year prison sentence, according to prosecutors.
