Cameron Joseph Baca Looks at 145 Years for Lewd Acts on Boys, Possessing Child-Rape Porn

A South County intramural sports coach has been convicted of
molesting three boys, ages 11 to 13, after befriending their families
and spending time alone with the victims.

The jury also found Cameron Joseph Baca, 29, of San Clemente, guilty of possessing more than 2,500 videos and photos of young children being raped and
sodomized, and over 50 written stories describing adult
men, including coaches and babysitters, having sex with young boys.

It appears he'll have a lot of time to think about those images: Deputy District Attorney Heather Brown of the Sexual Assault Unit is seeking a prison sentence of 145 years to life.

During trial, evidence was presented to the jury that between Jan. 2, 2006, and Dec. 18, 2008, Baca molested the boys
he met while working as their intramural sports coach for football, lacrosse,
and basketball in South Orange County.

He befriended the kids' families, attended their sporting events even when he was not coaching them, bought them baseball
cards, invited them to his home for meals and had them do various work
around the house.

When Baca would get one of his young victims alone, he touched the boy's
penis and butt, engaged in oral copulation and showed off his kiddie porn collection.

It all unraveled for Coach NAMBLA in December 2008, when one boy told his family. A subsequent Orange County Sheriff's Department
investigation produced the other two victims. The porn collection turned up during a search of Baca's home.

After speedy deliberations, the jury found Baca guilty of nine felony counts of lewd acts on a child
under 14, four felony counts of distribution of pornography to a minor,
one felony count of attempted lewd acts on a child under 14, and one
felony count of possession of child pornography.

His sentencing is scheduled for Sept.
17 in Santa Ana.
