Burlesque Goddess Dita Von Teese Returns To Orange County TOMORROW

Back in the day—the 1990s to be exact, raven-haired pin-up icon Dita Von Teese, was an unknown strawberry blonde named Heather Sweet who attended University High School Irvine. The now-defunct Captain Cream in Lake Forest hosted striptease sets from the future Neo-Burlesque superstar. But like many Orange County-raised celebrities (ahem, Gwen), Dita eventually ditched OC for the big city glamour of LA. Fortunately for us, though, Dita never fully turned her back on Orange County, gracing our cover a couple of years ago. And she’s paying OC a visit TOMORROW at the Huntington Beach Barnes & Noble for a book signing of her latest project, Your Beauty Mark: The Ultimate Guide To Eccentric Glamour, .

Part-bio, part-guide, and all-awesome, Your Beauty Mark Vfeatures Von Teese sharing her story of self invention, how she still uses drugstore hair dye, beauty tips, step-by-step tutorials, interviews with beauty experts, old Hollywood glamour history and how she tattooed her notable beauty mark near her left eye at Classic Tattoo in Fullerton when she was 18. Fashion journalist and OG Weekling Rose Apodaca helped pen the book—Orange County represent!

This is a wristband event, fanboys, so you can get them starting at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16 with the purchase of Your Beauty Mark or proof of purchase from a Barnes & Noble store or bn.com. Signing starts at 7 p.m.—see you there!
