This happened just before 8:40 p.m. Friday at La Palma and Stanton avenues, where the police woman, who was just leaving from a stop at the intersection heading east on La Palma in the 2011 Dodge Charger, was rear ended by a 2011 Kia Sorrento driven by a 32-year-old man, according to the California Highway Patrol.

She was taken to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries, and the man went there with minor wounds. It was unclear at press time whether he faces a citation or arrest.

The patrol car sustained major rear end damage, according to the CHP.
