Buena Park Police Officer Suffers Moderate Injuries When Car is Rear-Ended
Man, what an awful seven-day stretch for Buena Park police cars.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, one of the department's units struck and killed a pedestrian. Friday, a second unit was rear ended by a car, sending its driver and the police officer to the hospital with injuries.
This happened just before 8:40 p.m. Friday at La Palma and Stanton avenues, where the police woman, who was just leaving from a stop at the intersection heading east on La Palma in the 2011 Dodge Charger, was rear ended by a 2011 Kia Sorrento driven by a 32-year-old man, according to the California Highway Patrol.
She was taken to UCI Medical Center with moderate injuries, and the man went there with minor wounds. It was unclear at press time whether he faces a citation or arrest.
The patrol car sustained major rear end damage, according to the CHP.
