You were the South African couple sitting across from me on our flight from John Wayne to Cabo two weeks ago. Sitting in a row with three seats and an open seat in the middle, you told a wonderful woman that the middle seat was taken and you were "waiting for a friend." You even told the flight attendants that when they asked if you could move over a seat. That friend never showed up, and when you attempted silly small talk with me, you claimed it was "for your dead grandmother" and laughed as if it were a joke. Don't suppose it had anything to do with the fact the woman was of color? You owe the passenger and the flight staff an apology.
