For the first (hopefully not last) time, OC Cinematheque at the Frida Cinema in downtown Santa Ana presents the “'Best of Chapman University Student Films” tonight and Saturday.
]
The 22 films in all genres that range from 40-minute live-action movies to three-minute animations will be presented in three separate blocks of time. Block one runs from 7 to 11 tonight, block two is from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and block three is 7 to 11 that night.
The flicks were created through Chapman University's Dodge College of Film & Media Arts between 2008 and 2014, and each film block will be followed by audience Q&As featuring filmmakers and Dodge College faculty.
Tickets are $7 per block or $15 for all three, with Frida Cinema members getting a $2 discount per block or a $5 price cut for the trio. Buy them at www.thefridacinema.org or www.fandango.com.
The Frida Cinema is at 305 E. Fourth St., Santa Ana.
