Azul y no Tan Rosa, Gay Dad/Straight Son Drama, Rolls at 2014 Long Beach Qfilm Fest

A Venezuelan drama about a gay photographer adapting to his closed-minded teenage son (and vice versa) will make its Southern California premiere at next month's 2014 Long Beach Qfilm Festival presented by the LGBTQ Center of Long Beach.

Writer-director Miguel Ferrari's Goya-award winner Azul y no tan rosa (renamed My Straight Son for American audiences) stars Guillermo GarcĂa, Ignacio Montes and Hilda Abrahamz.

It tells the story of Diego, a young and successful fashion photographer whose life of shallowness and excess is interrupted by a tragic accident that leaves his partner in a coma. At the absolute worst time for Diego, he must take care of his son Armando, who knows nothing of his father's homosexual world.

My Straight Son is one of the festival's opening-night films. Qfilm Festival runs Sept. 12-14 at the historic Art Theatre, 2025 East 4th St., and the neighboring LGBTQ Center of Long Beach. Passes and tickets are currently on sale via www.qfilmslongbeach.com. The complete schedule follows …
