Arthur Andrew Andrade of Tustin Charged with Gunning Down Estranged Wife Soria Esperanza


A Tustin man has been charged with murdering his wife by shooting her multiple times in front of the Montebello restaurant where she worked.

Arthur Andrew Andrade, 29, had turned himself in at the Whittier Police station around 1 a.m. Sunday after being the subject of a manhunt since Soria Esperanza was gunned down Saturday morning.

The couple was married for four years but had separated, and Esperanza was believed to be living in East Los Angeles.


She was arguing with a man in front of her workplace in the 100 block of West Washington Boulevard in Montebello around 8:30 a.m. Saturday when he shot her multiple times in the chest, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, who added the gunman then fled in a dark-colored vehicle.

A bulletin describing Andrade as armed and dangerous was broadcast to law enforcement agencies before he turned himself in. He was held in lieu of $1 million bail pending an arraignment hearing scheduled this afternoon in East Los Angeles Superior Court, where he is charged with murder with a special circumstance of using a firearm to
cause death. A conviction could send him to state prison for 25 years to life.
