Anthony Allen Tealer Charged with Raping Girlfriend's Teen Relative in Brea

A fugitive who was arrested in Texas last month was arraigned today on charges of raping and molesting a 14-year-old girl in her Brea home six years ago.

Anthony Allen Tealer is charged with one felony count of forcible rape, one felony count of committing lewd acts upon a child, and sentencing enhancement allegations for a prior strike conviction for assault with a deadly weapon in San Diego County in 2003 and not remaining free from custody for a period of five years.

A conviction could send Tealer to state prison for 21 years. The 44-year-old is being held on $250,000 bail heading into a Dec. 11 pre-trial hearing in Fullerton. The victim is related to Tealer's girlfriend, prosecutors say.

Tealer was living with his girlfriend in Brea around Feb. 2, 2009, when he allegedly raped and molested the teen in a bedroom inside the residence, according to a statement from the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA) that indicates the girlfriend and another relative were home at the time.

The girl reported the crime to a relative, who then contacted the Brea Police Department. But before Tealer could be questioned, he allegedly fled to Killeen, Texas, the OCDA says.

Brea cops and law enforcement agents in Texas located and arrested Tealer on Aug. 21, after which he was transported back to Orange County.
