7 Programs Worth a Bullet to the Big Screen
The Orange County Sheriff's Department was summoned at 10:32 p.m. Aug. 7 to a Laguna Niguel home where a husband had allegedly shot his TV because he did not want his wife watching it.
Not to make light of 67-year-old Lawrence Paul Sentif's felony arrest--on suspicion of grossly negligent discharge of a firearm and vandalism causing more than $400 in damage--but the following seven shows on at that time could've driven a soul to put a bullet in the screen.
CBS: Person of Interest repeated the episode where Carter first meets Reese--and kills tension that had built up all season by their cat-and-mouse relationship that even rolls in the opening credits. What do the writers think this is, Moonlighting? Moider dat teevee!
NBC: A four-hour primetime block of the 2012 Summer Olympics seemed to mostly cover just one sport--and an outcome everyone in Orange County, if not the world, already knew: Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings smoked the Chinese. Even with the beach volleyball competitors' barely there naughty bit coverings, too many killshots coulda been too much overkill to keep from killing the boob tube.
Lifetime: The Mrs. may have kept on the Dance Moms marathon that began at 5 p.m., even though Amas de Casa Desesperadas was starting on KYHY/Canal 22. No one messes with Papi's stories! Donde esta mi pistola!?!
VH1: Defense attorney: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, have you heard Pia Rizza's voice on Mob Wives Chicago?
Jury: Harumph, harumph . . .
Defense attorney: Bailiff, please start the video.
Judge: [Banging gavel:] Case dismissed!
E!: The movie version of Sex and the City. Nuff said.
MTV: While it's great on Teen Mom that Farrah introduced her boyfriend Daniel to Debra and Catelynn has her own mom's back as Tyler's dad Butch goes to court, God almighty, must a man watch Amber and Gary struggle one more time over sharing custody of Leah? No, thou shant: a bullet to the big screen!
TBS: Ted Turner's old Atlanta-based station starting its sixth straight episode of The Big Bang Theory at 10:30 is enough to make anyone go big bang theory on their Panasonic.
