The death of a 33-year-old Santa Ana woman is being investigated as a homicide, police said this morning.
Julie Nguyen was dead when officers arrived at her residence in the 800 block of North Louise Street about 3:30 p.m. Sunday to perform a welfare check, according to a Santa Ana Police advisory.
She had apparently been dead for several days, and the Orange County Coroner's office later deemed her death a homicide, although how Nguyen died has not yet been released.
Relatives had asked cops to check on Nguyen.
Homicide detectives questioned the woman's boyfriend, who was released pending further investigation, police say.
