2.9 Earthquake Jolts Orange County

Did you feel it? I know I did: a quick jolt earthquake like the one that was centered in Newport Beach on Sunday.

That's also where this one was centered.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a quake that registered 2.9 on the Richter scale struck at 9:45 a.m.

It was centered 2 miles east of Newport Beach and had a depth of 4.8 miles, the USGS says.
