Since its inception in 2007, the fandemonium over Record Store Day has only grown. Drak, owner of Vinyl Solution in Huntington Beach, expressed his awe of fans last year who flooded into his store "like mice after a piece of cheese. It's amazing."
It's no wonder they do--each year on the third Saturday of April, independent record stores throw more events and carry limited amounts of limited-edition releases of fan favorite artists. After the jump, a list of what participating Orange County and Long Beach record stores will be doing to celebrate on Saturday.
Burger Records- The Burger boys are bringing in Bad Antics for an in-store show and will be giving away records and cassettes. Visit the store for details.
Creme Tangerine- Orange County's newest record store will kick off their first Record Store Day with a 15-20 percent off sale on all of their used vinyl. Several local artists TBA will perform. You can catch co-owner Parker Macy playing some of his signature blues songs as well. They will also carry a selection of the official Record Store Day releases.
Durty Mick's Records- The Torrance-based record label will be celebrating their first Record Store Day at their brand new Long Beach store. For starters, The Street Dogs' Tobe Bean will be doing a DJ set, spinning punk tunes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The shop will be offering free t-shirts, several rare releases off their own label, as well as a select amount of official Record Store Day releases. Mick will reach into his archives and release four records to celebrate Record Store Day.
Roger Miret and the Disasters "We're Gonna Find A Way" 7" limited edition on tri-color vinyl, 100 copies are available.
Agnostic Front/Discipline "Working Class Heroes" This 2xLP is limited to 500 and has been out of print since 2008.
Token Entry "The Re-Issue" The 2xLP is limited to 500 and has also been out of print since 2008.
Left Alone/Deadly Sins "Split" 7" is signed by the singers of each band and is limited to 100 copies.
Fingerprints Records- The day's worth of events planned at Fingerprints deserves a holy shit. The day begins with a 6 a.m. opening for maximum shoppage. The band Fucked Up will act as clerks from 1-3 by offering purchasing assistance to customers. Then, OFF!, fronted by Circle Jerk's Keith Morris, will blow the roof off of Fingerprints with a live performance from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Foo Fighters will play a sold out set for those who pre-sold their Record Store Day exclusive 7" "Medium Rare" collection of covers. Wristbands given out with the presale are required to attend.
Not to be outdone, Fingerprints continues the festivities with a set from Brett Dennen at 7 p.m.
In addition to all the madness, they will offer pre-sale tickets to a one-time local viewing of the Beastie Boys inspired short film, "Fight For Your Right Revisited" starring Seth Rogan, Elijah Wood, and Danny McBride as the Brooklyn trio. The film has over forty cameos including Will Ferrell, Jack Black and Steve Buscemi. They will also offer a selection of the official Record Store Day limited edition releases and bonuses.
Mass Media Records- For the more DIY-minded punk enthusiast, Mass Media has got you covered. They will be offering a sale of 20% off all LPs and 10% off all EPs. Free t-shirts or canvas tote bags will be given with any $50 or more purchase. Their label will release a new EP by A Heads, Discography 1982-2009. Of course, they will carry a selection of the official limited-edition releases for Record Store Day.
Moonlight Graham- The newly-revived record and apparel store will have a sidewalk sale on Saturday and special hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will also carry a selection of the official limited-edition releases for Record Store Day.
Pepperland- The Beatles-specialized store presents an in-store by Michael Ubaldini at 1 p.m. They are planning on having several performances on Saturday by bands TBA. Call the store for details. They will also carry a selection of the official limited-edition releases for Record Store Day.

TKO Records- The store is holding a Record Store Day weekend event starting on Friday. They begin with an appearance by the Meatmen and a free pizza party. The Detroit hardcore band will be signing and singer Tesco Vee will be doing a reading from his new book- a compilation of his writings from the Touch and Go zine.
On Saturday, TKO will offer a 20% discount throughout the whole store. In addition the TKO label will release two limited-edition 7" vinyls available in their store only. They will release a reissue of Poison Idea's "Darby Crash Rides Again," a collection of 1982 demos on blue vinyl. Secondly, they will release the Meatmen's new "Happy Fucking Easter, Asshole" tour 7". It has one original song and two Germs covers- "American Leather" and "Victim." The cover is a play on The Beatle's infamous butcher album cover. It is the only release with the band's current line-up.
Vinyl Solution- In addition to a free Gestapo Khazi and Jail Weddings show in the evening, Vinyl Solution will also carry a selection of the official Record Store Day releases.
