[VIDEO]: Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Frida Cinema

When it comes to weird cult audience favorites, Rocky Horror Picture Show seems second to none, considering of course that this musical is still going strong on the midnight movie circuit since its debut in 1975.

Character costumes, throwing items at the screen, dancing along to the "Time Warp" or yelling hilarious, often vulgar callbacks to the film's dialogue; some of the staples of the original Rocky Horror screenings from way back when are still in use today. They've also helped make this film the iconic musical that it is, and inspired the Library of Congress to name it "Culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Short Synopsis: A young conservative couple gets stranded in the middle of nowhere on a stormy night and find shelter at a dark, looming castle where sexy transsexual Transylvanian Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry) is building his own human sex toy, a blonde, blue-eyed adonis named Rocky Horror with the assistance of his handyman Riff Raff (Richard O'Brien) and maid Magenta (Patricia Quinn). The couple (Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick) find themselves losing themselves to pleasure and lust as they try to escape Dr. Frank's maniacal tendencies and find a way home.

We hung out with KAOS, the group who live "shadowcasts" (mimics the action of the characters onscreen) the film for the monthly Rocky Horror residency at the Frida Cinema in Santa Ana and had a blast checking out all the sweet transvestites who came out. Check them out every second Friday of the month in the future.
