Prince did part ways with Live Nation! “Rep says split was amicable. 'He & the president remain friends & will do future biz.'
He also tweeted, “Rep confirms there were payment delays w/ some band members in Prince
camp. Issues have been resolved. Shows resume this week.”
Speculation from Prince's fans say it's due to the lagging ticket sales for the rest of his residency; a query clarifying what this means for the 21 Nite Stand has been sent to Live Nation and we'll update as we find out more.
UPDATED, May 5, 2011, 4 p.m.:
According to the LA Times, Prince will play two shows at the Troubadour tonight. The first is at 7 p.m. and the other is at 11 p.m.
Tickets are $100 each and went on sale when the gig was announced a
little after 2 p.m. today. There are no hard tickets, and no
ins-and-outs. Also: No cameras.

Prince just announced six more dates on his 21-night Los Angeles residency. He's played 10 of those dates at the Forum

Welcome 2 America Live tour. Starting Friday, May 13, he's playing the eleventh show.

The show dates are Friday, May 13; Saturday, May 14; Sunday, May 15 (apparently there is no Sunday show!–Ed.); Friday, May 27; Saturday, May 28; Sunday, May 29 all go onsale today at 2 p.m. Tickets for the newly announced shows will be available on Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.
This announcement also refutes the news that Jawn Murray, the celebrity entertainment blogger, announced yesterday on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. According to Murray, Prince fired Live Nation and canceled a few of his band's work visas because none of them have been paid in weeks, so “a bunch of them quit on Sunday and that there are no more shows scheduled.”
Live Nation rep Greg Terlizzi replied, “We just announced multiple shows so we're working with him.”
