[UPDATED] EXCLUSIVE: How to Get Tickets to the Green Day Secret Show In Costa Mesa: Don't Bother Lining Up Right Now

UPDATE, AUGUST 11, 2011, 1:03 P.M.: Within a matter of seconds, not even a minute, the tickets to the Green Day show sold out. Bummer! But don't feel bad if you didn't get a ticket, you're not alone. Many fans are upset too, and they're venting their anger on the band's Facebook page. “This was bullshit,” Westminster resident and Green Day fan Zach Hammill wrote commented on the last status uptdate. “As a long time SoCal fan, I'm pretty upset. I was on top of that. I was refreshing my page every .0001 seconds. As soon as the button appeared, I clicked it, put in the code, and still got screwed. I type 74 words per minute.”

Those who were lucky enough to purchase tickets are commenting on Facebook too. Fan Anthony Estrada said, “The bar can hold 250 people. Around 75-100 tickets were given already to people associated with the band. So for the fans, it was only 150 tickets left, and since there is a 2 ticket maximum, that's only 75 people that got in. … And I was one of them.”

The show, a benefit for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (a
national nonprofit dedicated to controlling and curing the disease and
improving the quality of life for those with CF), will be held tomorrow
at 10 p.m. Doors will open at 8 p.m., but here's an important message
for all you diehard fans: Don't waste your time lining up right now.
Due to the overwhelming demand for tickets, the Tiki Bar and the City of
Costa Mesa asked Green Day to pre-sell tickets for the event. Save you
sleeping bags and tents because the venue's security guards will not
allow you to camp, line up or even stand by the sidewalk.

Not
that it would make a difference anyway, because the tickets, which cost
$20, aren't on sale yet, and won't be until 1 p.m. tomorrow. How can you
get one? Find out after the jump.

If you want to get a ticket, you will have to check out
Green Day's Facebook page tomorrow, which is where
they're releasing information on where to buy tickets. Only 250 tickets will be made available; the venue
has a maximum capacity of 300.

Obviously, the venue is tiny, which is why Billie Joe Armstrong wanted the event to be low key. Once the news leaked, John Sanchez, one of the Tiki
Bar managers and doormen, said people flew in  from places like England and
Sweden to Costa Mesa just to get a chance to see Green Day at such an intimate venue.

But unless you get one of the 250 tickets, you won't get in. John says not even TMZ (who've  contacted the bar), will get special treatment.

As we reported previously, there's a very strict no camera, no cell phone
policy, and it's 21+.
