The TriTone Latin Music and Arts Festival is coming to Chino this October and boasts an impressive lineup sure to get local Latin Alternative music lovers hyped! Described as the largest gathering of its kind in the United States, the three-day weekend event hopes to tap into a scene on the verge of explosion. “Our decision to showcase Latin music comes from our understanding that there is a huge underrepresented market that we feel is time to provide a venue for,” states the festival's website.

TriTone's assembly of bands wisely unites three key eras of rock en español and Latin Alternative music crossing generations and borders in the effort. Festival goers have the opportunity to see early Mexican rockeros like El Tri, La Lupita and Fobia. The second wave of artists who made a name for themselves in the late 90's are also well represented with El Gran Silencio, Ozomatli and Inspector set to perform. New acts currently surging in popularity round out the rest of the lineup with local favorites La Santa Cecilia joining innovative Mexican musicians Torreblanca, Hello Seahorse! and Carla Morrison.
The Latin music and arts festival styles itself in Coachella-esque fashion with overnight camping and weekend passes, but differs in key areas. Set to be held on the grounds of Prado Regional Park, organizers hope to pull people from Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire over a shorter trek. Also, by scheduling the event on October 19-21, it hopes to avoid the Sun Burnardino County summer heat in favor of milder temperatures.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. and range from $119 pre-sale general admission to $549 VIP passes. Here's to hoping TriTone much success in proving the Latin Alternative naysayers wrong!
