Hurricane Sandy is currently making life miserable for an ever-growing number of people. Along with those directly in the path of the hurricane, Sandy's presence is going to impact weather conditions in the wettest of ways. For those of you stuck inside on the other side of the country, we at the Weekly definitely sympathize, but more than that…we've got you covered. Here's five songs to get you through Hurricane Sandy!

5. Ann Peebles – “I Can't Stand the Rain” 1973
During a hurricane, it's not uncommon to look outside and recall a simpler time when Mother Nature wasn't raging on her period.Yes, while the rain “brings back sweet memories,” it also brings us another excuse to play Ann Peebles “I Can't Stand the Rain.” Nostalgia is usually a quick and effective escape, so even if you find yourself without power, there's plenty of memories with which you can entertain yourself.
4. Scorpions – “Rock You Like a Hurricane” 1984
How hard is the hurricane rocking you? Chances are Sandy is affecting you in a way comparable to Scorpions' 1984 hit “Rock You Like a Hurricane.” If it's not, you can find security in the fact that if you can survive the highest soaring guitars 1984 has to offer, you can survive this too.

3. Oran “Juice” Jones – “The Rain” 1986
The awful weather conditions also makes it less likely someone will risk leaving their home to be unfaithful, such as the woman seen (with “HIM!”) walking in the rain in Oran “Juice” Jones' 1986 hit. In the event a deceitful lover may try, one wouldn't need to run up on them, “do a Rambo” and risk messing up one's lynx coat. Sandy would likely enact a comparable revenge instead.
2. Hilary Duff – “Come Clean” 2004
The video for Hilary Duff's “Come Clean,” which you might recall took home a 2004 MTV Video Music Award for “Best Pop Video,” does a great job capturing the stoic melancholy of facing a day cooped up inside during a horrible storm. While your surroundings might not look quite as artistic, it is certainly comforting to know you have a kindred spirit in one of the Duff sisters.

As a direct result of Hurricane Sandy, most public transit along the east coast is indefinitely suspended, making it particularly hard to hang out with friends. But don't succumb to loneliness or cabin fever! Instead, play this remix of your favorite hurricane, Hurricane Chris' 2007 hit “A Bay Bay” featuring some of your favorite MCs! There are few things as empowering to the human spirit in a time of crisis as an E-40 verse, so throw on “A Bay Bay” (a song written about a beloved DJ Hollyhood Bay Bay) and let the party begin!
