Let's be real: Orange County isn't exactly the mecca for the greatest concerts of all time. But when national bands play around here, we expect some great music. And no, I'm not talking about Justin Bieber–we just like to make fun of him on a daily basis. We've recapped a year full of musical surprises and excitement, and we are hoping to build on that for an even better 2011.

The Honda Center transformed into a massive theatrical platform for Roger Waters to recreate the entire classic Pink Floyd album The Wall.
Explosions soon lit up the arena as the opening strains of “In The Flesh?” blasted your eardrums. Waters would soon appear through the smoke to don a leather jacket and Ray Ban aviator shades. The creeping delayed guitars of “Another Brick In The Wall (Part 1)” got the crowd on their feet. Soon a large inflatable caricature appeared out of nowhere and a group of children wearing t-shirts stating “Fear Builds Walls” danced along to “Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2).”
Things started to come together during “The Trial” as the wall quickly recycled all the thematic visuals of the evening turning my brain into mush. A large rumbling started to occur and the entire wall would come tumbling down to the cheers of everyone in the arena. Waters and his band would soon appear for a stripped down version of “Outside The Wall” with Waters on trumpet. The amount of production and superb quality of musicianship make it almost an insult to consider this performance a concert. Roger Waters's recreation of The Wall is in a class all by itself.
