Top Five EDM Halloween Parties
Escape From Wonderland 2012
For any dance music enthusiast, this week begins a pivotal time for choosing their Halloween party plans. Insomniac's Third Annual Escape From Wonderland lineup was officially released last week, which has us excited to experience another venture down the rabbit hole on Saturday October 26th. The lineup includes Caspa, Hardwell, Mat Zo, Noisia, a Pendulum DJ Set, Richie Hawtin, Steve Angello and more. It was underwhelming to some (not as much trance or mainstream artists) and perfect for others (lots of underground tech house and techno).
But like most holidays, the EDM scene likes to stretch out the Halloween festivities like nobody's business. We sifted through all the major parties to find the top five EDM Halloween parties so you can show off those epic (sometimes barely there) costumes and maybe try something different for a change.

The disturbing mind of Rob Zombie plans to terrorize So Cal at the LA County Fairplex in Pomona every Friday night this month, featuring some of your favorite dubstep and bass heavy Djs and producers. This Halloween Horror Festival features three different haunted houses and mazes including a Haunted World of El Superbeasto in 3D! We suggest checking out Doctor P, Zomboy, Terravita and Evol Intent on Friday the 25th. For only $30 you get to see UK's legendary Doctor P alongside some of dub music's up and coming artist, partake in the Bloody Boulevard activities and access to all the haunted house attractions.4. The Dada Land Compound
Dada Life is bringing their Dada Land Compound tour to San Diego thanks to LED on Friday the 25th at the Valley View Casino Center. You don't even have to arrive beautiful this time since it's Halloween theme, but you sure can expect to leave ugly (or at least very tired) after all of the pillow fights, champagne showers and banging electro beats. For a mere $45 you can also catch Grammy nominated A-Trak, Caveat, Clockwork, Craze, Jacques Lu Cont, Michael Woods and TJR. LED is known for throwing epic, ratchet, twerking inducing parties so expect to get your moneys worth. We just hope that the 4am end time also means each DJ gets longer than 30-45 minute long sets.
Keep the party going after the weekend at the Focus Annual Halloween Party Tuesday the 29th for only $10. Known for booking world renowned house music artist in an intimate setting, serving stiff drinks with great specials and bringing that underground vibe to the heart of Orange County, the Focus Halloween Party is no exception. All the regulars come out in their favorite spooky costumes as residents Wobs, DJ Nonfiction and Josh Billings set the mood for a non "EDM" bangers, deep and funky good time. Expect tech house duo Pleasurekraft to play a groove heavy, techno inspired set to keep you dancing the night away and forgetting the world with pleasure.2. Stafford Brothers at Sutra
If you want to skip staying home passing out candy on Halloween then head to Sutra's Element Thursdays (another OC EDM staple) for the Stafford Brothers on the 31st. Straight off their Aussie Invasion North American Tour they're ready to rock the club this Hallows Eve full of big room anthems, the occasional Lil Wayne collab and a banging festival like momentum. The recent LA transplants are known for throwing wild parties at their Hollywood Hills mansion so expect to get turnt up on a school night. If Halloween is anything like last year, Sutra will be decked out in full spooky décor. We hope they start bringing more of that Insomniac production to the club on major holidays.
On Wednesday HARD revealed their line-ups for the four stages at their Day of the Dead festival November 2nd and 3rd. Straight after all of the Halloween madness Day of the Dead (after the Dia De Los Muertos holiday) returns to the LA Historic Park with headliners Skrillex, Nero, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris and Eric Prydz. Over the course of two days this fest is jammed packed with incredible artists for all EDM pallets boasting a Red Bull Music Academy Discotheque and Underground Stage featuring some pretty epic legends like Giorgio Moroder, Skream and of course the first ever Cirez D LA appearance. Boasting live performances by The Bloody Beetroots, Kavinsky and a DJ set by Maxim from the Prodigy - this has got to be the crème de la crème of non recycled dance music artists to hit LA all year. Not to mention how sick will it be to see everyone dressed up in Day of the Dead make-up and costumes.
