TOMORROW: The Dead Weather Listening Party at Fingerprints
Sometimes you have to wonder what it takes for great musicians and bands to shuffle aside time in their schedules to weld together a "super group". Although in the case of The Dead Weather, whose members are amongst the busiest musicians in the indie rock game, making time for more music is just second nature. Their roster might as well be a recipe for stripped down, sonic excellence: Jacks White on drums (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs), Alison Mosshart on vocals/guitar (The Kills), Jack Lawrence on bass/drums (The Raconteurs), and Dean Fertita on guitar/organ (Queens of the Stone Age).
Tomorrow TDW releases their debut album, Horehound, independently recorded at White's Third Man Studios. Fingerprints in Long Beach is treating fans to a listening party of the new album along with some free food, free prizes and lithographs for anyone who buys a copy of a CD or LP. How nice of them. Things are getting started at 7 p.m. Click HERE for more info.
If you are one of the many faces on TDW's handful of fan sites, then you've probably already heard the band's first single "Hang you from the Heavens" released this past spring. This party is your chance to hang with like minded fans, collectively united to absorb what promises to be one of the best bands to come out of 2009. By the way, they are scheduled to play The Glass House on Aug. 27. If you haven't checked it out already, click the JUMP to see the band's video for Hang You From the Heavens" and see if it doesn't make you want to hang out in a photo booth.
