According to Rolling Stone, guitarist Gary Moore, who jammed with Thin Lizzy and had a lengthy solo career, died Sunday at the Kempinski Hotel in Estepona, Spain He was 58. Former manager Adam Parson's told the BBC that he was found dead in the hotel room, and the cause was not immediately known.
Drummer Brian Downey from Thin Lizzy declared Moore's death to be a "total shock," and guitarist Scott Gorham said that he "was a great player and a great guy." Moore and Thin Lizzy scored many hits in the 1970s, like "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Whiskey in the Jar," and he continued to perform solo music that straddled blues, rock, folk, metal and whatever else struck his fancy.
