The Five Must See EDM Shows in August

It's no secret that we have become the festival generation. Since March (some of us January and February) we've been packing our floral headbands and living out of suitcases at campgrounds and hotels all over. From Coachella to EDC dance music has taken over the largest stages and kept us dancing until the sun comes up while dreading that awful Monday morning. So it's only natural that as the summer comes to a close and the fest season winds down our top five must see EDM shows in August are all festivals. From Lollapalooza to Burning Man there's so much going on this month we had to take a step back and plan the whole month for you.

5. FYF Fest LA Sports Arena & Exposition Park Saturday and Sunday, August 23rd - 24th

The 11th annual FYF Fest makes its LA Sports Arena debut this year for an indoor and outdoor experience that's meant to cater to all musical tastes. The guys at FYF and Goldenvoice pack the event with just the right amount of music for everyone which includes some of the top electronic acts and underground DJs you would otherwise never get to catch in the states. From legends like DJ Harvey and Flying Lotus to underground taste-makers like John Talabot and electronic band Caribou. With an affordable $129 ticket price, this is the perfect hipster fest for those that like groovy house music and less of the EDM bangers dominating the big festivals. 2pm - 12am, 3939 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA 90037. 4. Pacific Festival The Newport Dunes Resort & Marina Saturday, August 16

Pacific Festival comes back to the Newport Beach Dunes for an oceanfront music festival experience right here in Orange County. The perfect summer festival with beaches, local food vendors, a new VIP Village, premium bars and artist like Bag Raiders, Poolside and local favorites Kedd Cook and Bones. Did we mention the infamous A Club Called Rhonda will also have their own stage? Add an epic disco after party at the Observatory with Giorgio Moroder and you have the perfect eclectic mix of electronic music lovers and beach city vibes for only $80! 1pm - 9pm (after party until 2am), 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660. For more info and tickets visit pacificfestival.com

3. Tramps Like Us San Diego Sports Arena Saturday and Sunday, August 30th - 31st

LED continues their annual Labor Day weekend celebration with the Tramps Like Us festival brand at the San Diego Sports Arena. Catering to the 18-and-over EDM crowd they also have a VIP section for a party that rages until 4 a.m. With world renowned DJs like Moby, Sander van Doorn, Headhunterz, Victor Nglio, Pegboard Nerds and Cole Plante there's something for everyone's dance music tastes for $100 or less! Known for their killer festivals with booming sound, inflatable blow up dolls (or sometimes animals), rave booties and everything that's not classy about San Diego - this is the perfect festival for those trying to turn up over the holiday. 9pm - 4am, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego CA. 2. Splash House The Saguaro, the Hard Rock Hotel and Hacienda Beach Club Friday through Sunday, August 8th - 10th

If you missed Splash House in June, then this is your chance to get in on the Palm Springs craziness. Made for dance music lovers that like the music, but hate the big crowds and the rage fest that most EDM festivals entail. Goldevoice, LED, KCRW and FGRS CRSSD take over three hotels over the course of three days and offer a stellar line-up with artist like A-Trak, Anna Lunoe, Chromeo and live performances from electronic bands like Flume and Cut Copy. With poolside drinks and an eclectic mix of selectors we think this is the perfect way to end your summer for. Bonus travel packages start at $230 per person and include hotel stay and shuttles! 12pm - 2am, locations vary. For more info and tickets visit splashhouse.com

1. HARD Summer Whittier Narrows Recreation Area Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd - 3rd

There's a reason why the 7th Annual HARD Summer tickets are already sold out and have become the hottest commodity all summer. The new venue is set to feature more stages and artist from all sorts of electronic music genres and hopefully fix all of the sound issue from the LA Historic Park. The line-up holds the most stacked list of talent in Southern California all year with Tiesto, A$AP Mob and Disclosure to the Martinez Brothers and Rudimental live! So goodbye to the summer while partying up to your favorite artist, discovering new DJs and hopefully meeting PLUR people willing to sell you a ticket at a fair price. 12pm, 1601 Rosemead Blvd., South El Monte, CA 91733.
