For the first time in its three years of being held over Halloween weekend, the Long Beach Comic Con is officially dubs itself Horror Con as well. While the main draw is still, of course, comics, there's a film fest, a masquerade ball, panels and giant names in the horror world. Here are six of our top picks at this weekend's event.

1. Digger Mesch – Mesch, the creator of Minimates, will be unveiling his new projects after spending 10 years in China. One is Sundown Seven, a horror-action-western with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creator Kevin Eastman. Kevin Grevioux (Underworld) is writing the script and the graphic novel. They'll also talk about Agent 88, about the world's most deadly
assassin, who just happens to be an 88 year-old woman with Alzheimer's.
Lastly, he's going to show some art on The Other Dead, about a
10-year-old boy with cancer, who has to team up with a redneck
duck-hunter, a Latin stripper and the president of the United States to
save the world.
2. John Carpenter –
Horror movie legend, who made Escape From New York, Halloween & The
Thing will be signing a special preview issue of “John Carpenter's
Asylum.” If you have a signature voucher, Carpenter will also be signing
non-comic items…maybe you can wear your Thing costume and get it
signed!
3. Robot Chicken Q&A – With producers Seth Green and Matthew
Senreich- On Saturday, 3 p.m., the con will preview clips from upcoming
episodes of season 5.
4. Might & Fright Film Fest will focus on Jon Schnepp (“Metalocalypse”)–and Felicia Day will be screening of her hit Web series The Guild, which was filmed at the convention's April event.
5. Masquerade Ball – on Saturday night, where top cosplayers compete for prizes.
6. “Simpsons Tree House of Horror” – The panel that will include Jane Wiedlin (The Go-Gos), Tom Hodges (Clone Wars) and Bill Morrison (The Simpsons)! They will, of course, talk about Jane and Tom's Treehouse of Horror story, and answer questions about anything from The Go-Go's to Lady Robotika to Clone Wars and everything else you want to know.
