Singles That Just Dropped: Bjork, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jeff Bridges

Two much-anticipated (and one slightly befuddling) singles dropped over the course of this past week–one from Björk and one from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

]
The first is Björk's “Cosmogony”  — which is defined a theory on
the origins of the universe. On the single, Björk croons about exactly
that — a haunting chorus of wails leads into an atmospheric track dices
with horns, as Björk breathlessly sings about a silver fox who helped
create the world.
Cosmogony is streaming over at ALL NEON LIKE, but is also available on iTunes for purchase.
The single comes from the Icelandic singer's forthcoming app album Biophilia (due for release on September 26) and follows the release of single Crystalline. Biophilia's album art was revealed today and is posted below.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have come out of hiatus (three cheers!) swinging —  armed with a new guitarist and a new single “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” (which boasts an uptempo beat and a whole lotta cowbell), things are looking up for the band. The single, which can be heard below, is off the group's upcoming album I'm With You, set to drop on August 26.

The last single comes from actor Jeff Bridges, whose vocal work in Crazy Heart earned him musical accolades in addition to Oscar hardware. His self-titled country album comes out August 16, but the album has already leaked on YouTube (The Dude abides).
