A reunited--at least for tonight--Bourbon Jones deftly recreates the juke joint sounds of the Deep South. The Long Beach band plays old-school boogie music, the kind that drips with blues grease and prompts people to shake their ass--rather than cry in their beer. It's jumping, hot, custom-made for blasting away all memory of those damn cubicle walls. Gruff, manly vocals, sweet slide guitar licks and hot harp action ride over rumbling standup bass and drum. It's all there to make for your rug-cutting, escapist enjoyment.
