Playground Festival Announce Free Afterparty at Yost (with Lindsay Lohan and Pete Wentz)

We're still not sure about Playground Festival. While its lineup has a strong hip-hop component (Game, Lil Jon and Big Sean), the rock bands on the bill are comprised of acts that were big in 2008 (Bravery, Panic! at the Disco and Shiny Toy Guns). It seems totally overreaching that they're calling themselves OC's Coachella, but they're certainly trying, what with the announcement of the free afterparty at Yost Theater on Saturday.

The carrot on a stick? Child star-turned-trainwreck  Lindsay Lohan (whose latest work is a starring role in a music video) and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz are confirmed festival guests. (Because yes, that will definitely get me to Hidden Valley if the Bravery won't.)

From the press release:

The Playground Festival's Coachella-like craziness gets started at 11
a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the after-party starts at
the recently reopened Yost Theater in Santa Ana. Doors open to the
public at 10 p.m. and the party rages until 2 a.m.

All festival attendees with wristbands (and 21 years old and older)
will be granted free admission long before the general public. The night
will feature Yost Theater's “Show”, with DJ duo Lazrtag, aerialists,
contortionists, break dancers, stilt-walkers, burlesque dancers,
gymnasts, magicians and more.

The all-ages festival will feature a “never-before-seen lineup” featuring The
Game, Big Sean, Panic! at the Disco, Lil Jon, New Boyz, The Cataracs,
Break the Circus, Steel Panther, Mickey Avalon, celebrity DJ Heavy
Grinder, Fishbone and more.

The
Playground Festival
takes place Sept. 3-4 at Hidden Valley, Irvine,
Calif. (the old Lion Country Safari grounds), next to the Verizon
Amphitheater.
