No joke, Moostache really seems like one of those bands that we'll soon be able to say "we knew them back when."
Other than simply being one of the gosh-darned likable local bands around (who couldn't love the charming brothers Wardell?), they're on a pretty good run of high-profile opening gigs atthe Glass House
in Pomona, having recently opened up for Portland'sPortugal the Man
, and scheduled to support British quirk-rockersArt Brut

at the same venue on October 29.
They're also staying pretty prolific--their first full-length, The Body Disagrees, came out this past summer, and this week released an acoustic EP, rather cleverly entitled Acoustache, Volume 1. It's six songs--all different than the ones on the album! Amazing.
Even more amazing: the EP can be downloaded here, and is "pay-what-you-want," In Rainbows-style. You can either name your price, pay the suggested $5 (like a museum), or "steal it." (I think your heart knows the right decision. Right?)
They're celebrating the release of the EP tonight at the Blue Laguna down in Laguna Beach. It's a free show--no moral debates or cognitive dissonance required. All ages, 8 p.m.
