It's been over two years since the release of Matt Costa's second studio album, Unfamiliar Faces, with its infectious lead single “Mr. Pitiful.” But now the Huntington Beach resident has finally announced plans for his third full-length, titled Mobile Chateau, due out September 21… along with plans for a fall tour.

The album was recorded at Santa Ana's Pheasant Studios and the production was done with Costa himself at the helm.
Costa promises a “distinct departure” from his previous work in Mobile Chateau, leaning towards what the press release calls “'60s psychedelic superheroes,” before name-checking Donovan, 13th Floor Elevators, the Zombies and the Electric Prunes.
“I've always been drawn to that sound,” Costa reveals. “I've been hearing songs like these in my head for my whole life and Mobile Chateau is the closest I've gotten to getting those songs out of my head and onto a record.”
