Okay, you probably love her on Will N Grace, even dug her little M&M commercial, but you've probably never really heard Megan Mullally sing.
Debuting in such crummy shows as Grease (the hawker with Rosie O'Donnell) or the better How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (with Mr. Sarah Jessica Parker), Mullally did some non-musical stints in TV movies (The Children Nobody Wanted with Michelle Pfeiffer!) and was a call girl in Risky Business, starring—um, we forget. But, finally—oh, finally—this Oklahoma gal put together a band, Megan Mullally and the Supreme Music Program, and released one, glorious, fantastic album, Big as a Berry.
Expect this former voice of Pebbles Flintstone to belt out not only killer cover tracks from her CD, such as Randy Newman's “It's Lonely at the Top,” the Beatles' “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” and Bobbie Gentry's “Fancy,” but also a whole host of other tunes that showcase her bawdy style. Afterward, you can pray to your god of choice that her newly proposed TV gig, The Megan Mullally Show, isn't just a daytime or nighttime chit-chat gig and is, instead, a new sitcom much like the excellent—yet short-lived—Ellen Burstyn Show from 1986, which starred Mullally as Burstyn's daughter and Elaine Stritch as her mother. Sacrifice a goddamn goat if you have to.
