Konsept Hosts "Fabric" Fashion Show Tonight at Copper Door
Santa Ana art collective Konsept has kept a very distinguished presence in the OC art scene, most prominently in Downtown SanTana, in the last four months. And without skipping a beat, tonight they will be hosting their very first fashion show at the Copper Door in DTSA, an event that includes runway walks, live music, raffle giveaways, vendors, and best of all, admission is FREE.
The fashion show, titled "Fabric," will feature runway looks from budding designers, including Laila Lupe, Lexie, Swav Apparel, Arma and GCS Santa Ana, and each designer will present ten runway looks.
Tyson Pruong, Konsept's general manager, has kept a cool head even in all the turmoil of planning out the night's event, with some help from members of Konsept. Marilyn Ha and Lien Do, two designers behind Forever Young Clothing and Laila Lupe respectively, are the first clothing designer members of Konsept. They aided in the details and helped guide the other designers in what to present for the night. Each designer has their own take on the urban street wear style, and Ha states that when it came to advising, she gave each designer "complete freedom" in their runway looks.
The Fabric Fashion Show program features many familiar names often seen in their other events--vendors from Santanero Zine to Urban Vapes to GCS Santa Ana, all local supporters and sponsors of the Konsept spirit. So from beginning to end, the evening's got a lot in store. If you're one of the first ten guests to arrive, you'll receive a free swag bag; if you're one of the last to leave, you can continue to pummel down drinks (or if you're DD-- water) at the after party at Bistro 400. In between: slinky models walking down catwalks and performances by Alexa Yoshimoto, Brian To Earth and dancing by Bad Girls Club.
It's a normal Konsept event, including artsy vendors and musicians showcasing their talent, but Konsept's events are never really 'normal,' although one thing's for sure, they're all memorable. It all goes down tonight at 7 p.m.-- don't forget your ID, and see you there!
