Kanye Tweets for the First Time in Nearly Two Months, Reveals Album Cover

Not to be outshone by America's Independence Day, Kanye West broke his near two-month long Twitter silence (last tweet was May 15) last Monday, July 4.

But it's not the kind of tweet we we've all come to expect from Yeezy — “Boyfriends are
like rush hour traffic… ALWAYS IN THE FUCKING WAY!”; “I specifically
ordered persian rugs with cherub imagery!!! What do I have to do to get a
simple persian rug with cherub imagery uuuuugh” and “Black is the new
black.”
Instead of tweeting to his over 3.6 million followers about antique fish tanks or doing it with models, Kanye chose the historic date to drop the details on his new upcoming album-collab with Jay-Z, Watch the Throne.
The album cover — which was created by former Givenchy (duh, of course) designer Riccardo Tisci — resembles the H.A.M. single cover in its ornate decor but with far more, you know, gold (duh x 2).
And after much confusion over the album release — on New Year's Eve Kanye said the album would be released in one week (false), and fans suspected that the album might come out over this past holiday weekend (also false) — it seems Watch the Throne has finally been given a legitimate drop date. On pre-order reciepts, the LP's ship date is listed as “2011-08-02.”
Watch the Throne is rumored to feature artists like Beyonce and Bruno Mars.
