​Avenged Sevenfold drummer James "the Rev" Sullivan, who was found dead in his Huntington Beach home Dec. 28, has been nominated for a 2010 Revolver Golden God Award. The nominees were announced today at a press conference held at the Rainbow Bar & Grill on Sunset Boulevard in LA. Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Lemmy Kilmister (Motörhead) and Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) were among those present. The other nominees for Best Drummer are Chris Adler (Lamb of God) Brann Dailor (Mastodon), Dave Grohl (Them Crooked Vultures), Gene Hoglan (Dethklok, Fear Factory) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer).

The second annual 2010 Revolver Golden God Award presented by Epiphone will take place  April 8 at Club Nokia in LA. The show will later be televised on VH1 Classic May 22. Tickets go on sale this Friday, February 19 via Ticketmaster. Andrew W.K. and professional wrestler/actor Chris Jericho will host the event. Ozzy Osbourne will be presenting Judas Priest front man Rob Halford with honoree Golden God Award and Dave Grohl will hand Lemmy Kilmister the Lifetime Achievement Award. 

Rob Zombie, Fear Factory (making their LA debut withnew line-up), As I Lay Dying, the Devil Wears Prada and last year's host Brian Posehn's band featuring Scott Ian, Brendon Small, John Tempesta and Joey Vera as well as Zakk Wylde are scheduled to perform--with more acts to be "announced in the coming weeks," the press release reads.
