Incoming: Yo La Tengo Playing at Detroit Bar

only good thing out of Hoboken since Sinatra, bring their masterful indie magic to Detroit Bar on February 24. Although we don't know the special guests, they have to be good. This is the biggest act to hit Detroit Bar in a long time, and we're stoked to know the terrific trio is heading this way.

These days, Yo La Tengo are busy touring the states, performing classics from throughout their 25-year career. On their website blog, the band announced, “We've decided to take the advice from Blood, Sweet N Tears, and 'ride a painted pony, let the spinning wheel spin.'” The group will actually bring out a Wheel of Fortune-style to spin, and they will perform a set based on where it lands. Want to hear all their songs with a name in the title? If it lands there, you get your wish…

The last time we saw the band, Ira Kaplan and James McNew were dancing and twisting on the massive stage at Coachella in April. Luckily for us, they'll be playing in a much more intimate setting at Detroit. Do yourself a favor and get out to the show–you will not be disappointed. The concert is $25, and starts at 9 p.m. You can buy tickets here.
