Government Shuts Down Torrent Sites; Where Will People Steal Music Now?
ICE's message on the seized sites
The New York Times reported that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, seized a number of sites that "either hosted unauthorized copies of films and music or allowed users to search for them elsewhere on the Internet."
According to the ICE, there were court-ordered seizure warrants against a number of domain names, but there are no additional details available for the ongoing investigation.
Torrent-finder.com, onsmash.com, rapgodfathers.com and dajaz1.com--all specializing in music--were all seized. At least 70 other sites related to counterfeit clothing, DVDs and other goods were also seized.
