Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used to Know': The Five Best Covers

You know the song: “Somebody That I Used to Know” is a powerful and bitter break-up anthem by Australian singer-songwriter Gotye. I'm not sure how to rank it compared with Adele's “Someone Like You” as a break-up ode, but I'd definitely put it in the same mix tape.

Both songs are seriously up there along with  TV on the Radio's “I Was a Lover,Alanis Morrissette's “You Oughta Know” and Phil Collins' “Against All Odds.”
Gotye is performing at the El Rey in Los Angeles tomorrow. To mark that sold-out show, we thought we'd put together a list of the best covers of “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

Walk Off the Earth – Multitalented Canadians kill it with this clever rendition–one guitar, five musicians.

Airika Ladybug – Local girl plays all the instruments herself…and makes the video as well!

Fronz Arp – performs the cover using his ukulele, a money-filled French-macaroon tin and percussive polished-floor.

Michael Schulte and Max Giesinger Two boys sing and harmonize, and create a gigantic sound out of their guitars and voices.

Right The Stars feat. Karmina – This Miley Cyrus-recommended cover is a slick and radio-ready production.
