Go Ventures Officially Cancels Together As One, Draws Heat From Falsely Advertised Performer

Disappointed ticket goers and would-be New Year’s Eve ravers are probably feeling a little less PLUR today after Go Ventures officially copped to the cancellation of their year-end Together As One party at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in L.A. Yesterday, the troubled rave promoter posted confirmation on the event’s website and Facebook page basically saying that the company was forced to jump through some extra hoops to reach an agreement with the Shrine but ultimately they decided they weren’t able to agree on a contract. Because usually all this wrangling for a huge show usually takes place less than two weeks before hand, right? Especially for an event in its 15th year.

The Weekly received confirmation from the Shrine on Tuesday after being tipped off by a frustrated ticket holder. One thing worth noting is that aside from whatever deal they were reaching with the Shrine, it appears at least one of the event’s performers, Lazy Rich, was never actually on board with the show despite his name being advertised on the bill. The popular Canadian DJ is actually booked to play gigs in Philadelphia and New York on NYE. On Tuesday, the DJ took to Facebook with a less-than-happy status update: “So a promoter in LA has decided to falsely advertise my name on their NYE line up. Hmm…Need to calm down…AH.. Tea time!”

Although no one from Go Ventures, including it’s figurehead DJ Reza, could be reached for comment, the company did offer this explanation as to why Together As One came apart at the seams. Let’s see if you believe it.

Statement from Go Ventures:

To our loyal clients, attendees and friends:
We are disappointed to announce that our Together As One show this year has been canceled. While we worked extremely hard during the last several months to put together a successful event, ultimately we were unable to present this year’s event. Go Ventures worked diligently to obtain all necessary approvals to hold this year’s TAO event at the Shrine Auditorium. Go Ventures was even required to take additional steps to present the show, steps that other promoters have not been required to undertake when producing similar events at the same venue. Nevertheless we took those additional steps but ultimately due to an inability to come to terms regarding our venue agreement, the show was canceled. We believe our work and diligence would have been rewarded in the form of a successful event.

All clients that have purchased tickets ONLINE will automaticaly [sic] be refunded by both groovetickets and Ticket Master. If you do not see the charge within a few days , please seek refunds from the ticket vendor from which they were purchased. We appreciate your loyal support and will continue to fight, strive and work through this in efforts to bring back TAO in 2013 please stay connected to www.NewYearsEveLA.com if you are interested in helping please email re**@go********.com

Bottom line…bummer. We will continue to update if any more details become available.
