It's the start of the month, and you know what that means! A whole new slew of craft classes available all over southern California, ready to get your creative gears cranking!
Home Ec in Silverlake has two really fun Easter-themed classes coming up soon! There's a Spring Eggstravaganza class for kids on March 14, where they'll make spring candy dioramas (rumor has it there'll be a super special live bunny guest!), and an adults egg decorating class on March 25 that's bound to teach you a thing or two you didn't know about using silk ties to dye your Easter eggs! The Craft Kitchen brings us a couple of super interesting new selections this month as well! I'm loving the sound of the Cheese and Brew Crew class being held on Monday, March 8 at Seed People's Market, where cheesemongers and personal chefs Holly Messenger and Teresa Yang host a class involving tasting all kinds of cheese and beer in a quest for a better understanding of what goes well together. Also exciting is this month's Craft and a Movie selection of Pretty in Pink! Get inspired by Molly Ringwald's fashion adventures as you sift through tons of vintage clothes and learn ways to re-style them using basic hand-sewing and applique techniques! If you've got some basic sewing skills and want to learn something really useful this month, definitely consider taking Garment Alterations 101 at The Urban Craft Center. Think about those clothes you never wear because a) they just don't fit quite right and b) you don't want to pay to have a tailor fix them. You're supposed to bring these clothes to the class, where you'll learn how to lengthen and shorten, let in and let out various clothing items!
