Four EDM Albums That Should Have Been Nominated for the Grammys

Nero
Nero

The Grammy nominees have been announced for this years Best Dance/Electronic Album. Not a bad selection this year -- nothing absurd like Party Rock from LMFAO; nonetheless, there are definitely better ones. Here are our picks for the notable EDM albums that should have made the list.

Nero - Welcome Reality
Many of you have been listening to Nero for a couple of months now, and I bet you didn't know it. Their music has been chosen for two of the most popular commercials last year, which included "Me and You" (Beats by Dr. Dre Colors) and "Innocence" (Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol ). From beginning to end, Welcome Reality is a theatrical dubstep roller-coaster. Nero produced the best album in 2011 by far.

Kaskade - Fire & Ice
Fire & Ice

was one of the most anticipated house albums of 2011. It landed at No. 17 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and No. 1 on Billboard's Dance Chart. Kaskade collaborated with a plethora of artists including Skrillex, Dada Life, Skylar Grey, Haley and Neon Trees. He is showing the world EDM's unique cross genre ability with singles "Lessons In Love feat. Neon Trees" and "Room For Happiness feat. Skylar Grey" and "Lick It feat. Skrillex". Listen to

Fire & Ice

and let your feet do the talking.

TyDi - Shooting Stars

TyDi's popularity is ever growing--especially in California. He frequents Circus in Hollywood, and is slated to Headline Love Groove on Feb. 8 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino. When

Shooting Stars

was released, it shot straight to the top of dance charts around the world. With hits like "Acting Crazy", "Talking To Myself" and "Never Go Back", why isn't this album nominated for a Grammy? TyDi also has some amazing music videos, but let's save that conversation for next year.

Gareth Emery - Northern Lights Re-Lit

From beginning to end, this album will put you in a state hypnosis. I understand that Trance is not as popular in America, but Emery's CD will make you fall in love with this growing genre. Yes,

Northern Lights Re-Lit

is packed with remixed tracks, but isn't that what EDM is all about? With that being said, Gareth features some of the biggest names in Trance including John O'Callaghan, Arty, Hardwell and Beltek, to name a few. Watch out for Gareth Emery, as he will be performing on Armin Van Buuren's, A State of Trance stage, at this year's Beyond Wonderland.
