Flier of the Week: Sunday Karaoke with Lester Trombone, May. 2

We usually never fail to inform you about the barrage of buzz bands to saunter through Detroit Bar during the week. But rarely do we talk about the magic of Sunday Night Karaoke with Lester Trombone. Shame on us. It's about time.

This weekly dose of drunken sing-a-long bliss–practically an institution at the popular Costa Mesa watering hole– deserves a lot more attention than it gets. And with a new flier like this, who wouldn't be motivated to knock back some shots, get on stage and sing your ass off before work on Monday?
It looks like they've swapped out the old (boring) weekly flier for something a little more,ah, disturbing…but colorful. We're sure Trombone's typical crowd is usually a lot more attractive than this, but it's nice to see how a little punk rock cartoon action can add an extra  “wow” (or in this case an “ew”) factor to a night that often gets over looked by our local hipsterati.

Besides the free cover and unpretentious crowd, you'll also get the chance to attempt Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody” on the same stage graced by various members of the Wu-Tang Clan and shit load of other hot musical acts. The night starts at 8 p.m. and karaoke starts at 9:30 p.m. In any case, it certainly grabs your attention. Is it just us, or is this guy enjoying his microphone way too much?
