Flier of the Week: Bellhaunts at Alex's Bar, May 20

Most shows at Day of the Dead-themed watering hole Alex's Bar will probably put you the center of some strange company. But trust us, even the crazy hipster melting pot of the Long Beach bar scene isn't capable of producing the crowd occupying this flier. Not even on a Thursday. In regard to the sad white lady with the curlers–we're not sure if she just woke up in the center of a crazy Mad Max fantasy world or if she was the only one at the Halloween party to forget her costume.

Either way, this random swath of scantily clad femme fatales should hold your attention long enough for you to check out the info on tomorrow's show. The line-up features a slew of diverse local gems starting with Santa Ana's the Bellhaunts. Besides their recent cameo in our Local's Only column last month, the band of earnest, psychobillies continue to give OC and Long Beach's grimy dive bar scene plenty of pissed of chords to devour with their drinks. Tomorrow, they'll be joined with fellow Long Beach Locals Only alumni the VespertinesBella Novella and Glendale's All-Girl Boy's Choir. The show starts at 9p.m. with a $5 cover charge. Be there.
