Five Hip-Hop Kicks Better Than Snoop Dogg X Adidas Shoes
Doug Neill/OC Weekly
You've seen them: the yellow-and-purple, Lakers-inspired kicks that Snoop Dogg designed with Adidas, released just in time for the All Star game. They're not the first shoe Mr. Dogg has designed (check out Doggie Biscuitz by Pony from 2004), so he's at least learned his lesson.
The Snoop Dogg X Adidas shoe comes in two styles: an amped up, garish yellow-and-purple version for showing off and a more sedate black shoe for everyday use. So sure, Snoop Dogg X Adidas are cool. But they're not the most exciting hip-hop sneakers around; after the jump, check out Kanye West, Jay-Z, MF Doom and Big Boi's shoes. (Mostly they're better because you don't have to color coordinate your outfits to wear them.)
Kanye West's Air Yeezy
Why is it awesome? Because this classic Nike shoe, released in 2009, has appreciated to about $1,000 per pair.
Jay Z's S. Carter Collection by Rbk
Even if you weren't a fan, you'd still wear this classic Reebok series Jay Z started designing in 2003.
MF Doom Dunks
Doom's Mask is on the tongue, and there are "Super Villain" lacelocks on this Nike sneaker designed by underground hip-hop artist MF Doom.
Litefoot's Aboriginal Footwear
Okay, maybe it's not better looking, but this orthopedic shoe designed for diabetics by a Native American Cherokee rapper has good intentions. Nice.
Big Boi's Converse Hi Tops
Big Boi's Def Jam debut, "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty," was heralded by this limited-edition converse. HOW CUTE IS THAT?!?!?
