Fingerprints Celebrates Record Store Day With Jimmy Eat World, Best Coast and More

The arrival of April means that Record Store Day is almost upon us. On April 20, our favorite LBC music shop Fingerprints is celebrating in a big way. This year the shop's in-store performance lineup boasts FM alt-rockers Jimmy Eat World along with L.A.'s own Best Coast, Grammy-winning Guitarist Laurence Juber (formerly of Wings–yeah, with Sir Paul himself) and bassist/punk demigod Mike Watt. All that music in one day. Crazy right? And no, this isn't an April Fool's joke.

Naturally, each of the bands have their own RSD merch to sell. With the help of Clark's Originals, Best Coast will release a new 7″ called “Feat of My Identity,” featuring two new tracks. Jimmy Eat World, freshly reunited and back in fighting form, are hitting us with brand new 7″ featuring “Damage” backed with a cover of Radiohead's “Stop Whispering.” Juber's got an exclusive vinyl version of his upcoming album, Under an Indigo Sky, limited to 500 copies worldwide. And last but not least, Watt–currently on tour with Iggy & The Stooges– is releasing a new 7″ with his new band Black Gang Project, featuring covers of “Rebel Girl' by Bikini Kill and “30 Days in the Hole” by Humble Pie. Watt will be joined by the Secondmen for this appearance.

The impressive in-store lineup follows in the wake of past year's schedules, where A-list artists including the Foo Fighters, World Party, M. Ward, and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys played to a packed house.
