Time to back up our words. In last week's "Best of" issue, the OC Weekly declared Costa Mesa's the New Limb to be the "best live band" in Orange County. Quite the title! And you judge for yourself, tonight, for free. With free food, too. Pretty good deal, all things considered.
What's the occasion? Why, the three-year anniversary ofDinner with Dave
, the twice-monthly event at Memphis in Santa Ana that combines live music, DJs and complimentary culinary treats in what's essentially the world's first hipster soup kitchen. It's put together by local chef Dave Mau, read our food blog's interview with him

Also performing tonight: our pal Billy Kernkamp, the Pharmacy Keys (a new acoustic project from members of Duress, who we wrote about in Locals Only back in April) and Starpool, a band featuring several former Save Ferris members and former No Doubt co-lead singer Alan Meade (we knew those two bands were always pretty similar). DJs Oldboy (he's everywhere!) and Ben N will be doing their things.
Per usual, it's a free event. Things start at 9 p.m.
