Chester Bennington Talks About STP and the Sad State of Rock

Whether you're a fan of Linkin Park or not, you have to admit Chester Bennington is doing an excellent job as Stone Temple Pilot's new frontman.

Bennington appeared on STP's “High Rise” EP in 2013, following the departure of frontman Scott Weiland, and it appears he's sticking around to work on new music with the band.

According to STP bassist Robert DeLeo, the band is currently in the studio with Bennington. DeLeo broke the news on twitter earlier this week when he posted a photo with his band mates. STP also announced its first live show of 2015: a stint at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale on March 28. (Tickets are only $28!)

Meanwhile, Weiland is creating his own buzz: he just launched a PledgeMusic campaign for pre-orders of his upcoming album (to be released March 31) with his band The Wildabouts. You can hear “White Lightning”, a new track via SoundCloud, and for a pledge of $1,750, you can even go paintballing with Weiland.

Here's what Bennington has to say about STP and his beef with today's Rock. Quotation above via theblackoutshowonline.com.
