In case you didn't know, The Weekly's second annual People Issue just hit the streets (and coffee tables, record stores, restroom stalls, etc.). That can mean only one thing: Artopia!–our special night of art, music, complimentary food and drink and flashy bartending skills all in honor of the new mag. Since this People Issue is all about highlighting our most interesting hell raisers, weirdos, and cultural mavens, we figured it's our duty to bring you an event with a similar spirit.
The event, held this Saturday, March 22, is happening at Muzeo, a sprawling indoor/outdoor museum and cultural exhibit center in Anaheim from 7-10 p.m. The event should make for a perfect Saturday night, featuring live performance artists (did you catch the aerialist we had at the Yost Theater last year? Crazy!), local music from soulful ukelele songstress Brit Rodriquez and electro-pop rock outfit Tapioca and the Flea. Tickets for Artopia start at $20 for general admission and $40 for VIP.
General admission guests will enjoy complimentary food, as well as cocktail and beer tastings. Entertainment includes a fashion show, musical performances, a live flare bartending contest, live performance art and much much more! Artopia 2014 will also showcase finalists from OC Weekly's The Creatives contest chosen by you, our readers.
VIP guests will enjoy exclusive food, as well as cocktail tastings in their private VIP lounge. This is in addition to complementary sampling through out the event. Our VIP's will be able to sample drinks from the flare bartending contest. This will not be available to the general public. They will also have access to a separate VIP entrance and exclusive prizing only available in the VIP lounge.
